You will get the opportunity to discover some of Morocco's most famous monuments and landscapes while on this tour, which features the ideal mix of cultural experiences, historical learning, and stunning natural scenery. Are you looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to explore the wonders of Morocco's Merzouga Desert? Our 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakech offers an unforgettable adventure that will take you on a journey through the heart of Morocco's stunning desert landscapes.

DAY 3:  MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY:

Your camel guide will wake you up at an ungodly hour so that you can witness what could very well be the most beautiful sunrise of your entire life. You will make your way back to the village of Merzouga through a relaxing camel walk. Along the way, you won't be able to help but marvel at the extraordinary Erg Chebbi sand dunes, which transform their appearance in response to the shifting light throughout the day. You will leave for the Rissani, Tinghir, and Todra gorges after a hot shower and breakfast. These are the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge, we will drive through the Dades Valley, where you will see the magnificent sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as "monkey toes." The accommodations for the night will be at a posh traditional guesthouse with a view of the Dades valley, and both dinner and breakfast will be provided.

DAY 4: DADES VALLEY – BOUTAGHRAR – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE:

After breakfast at your Riad, we will start our journey to Marrakech and make a stop at Ait Benhaddou Kasbah along the road. One of the last Berber chieftains, Thami El Glaoui, was responsible for the construction of this enormous Kasbah, which is the largest in all of Morocco. That used to be one of his stops along the route on his long journey from the Desert to Marrakech. His final destination was Marrakech. Since that time, Unesco has recognized it as a site of global heritage significance. You will continue on your journey to Marrakech by traversing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizin'tichka Pass, which is located at an elevation of 2,260 meters. You will have the opportunity to learn about the manner and the process that the Berber women employ in their cooperatives to create argan oil, which is exclusive to Morocco and can only be obtained in that country. Argan oil is known for its nourishing and moisturizing properties. The excursion comes to an end upon arrival in Marrakech, which might take place either in the late afternoon or evening.

DAY 5: OUARZAZATE – AIT BENHADDOU KASBAH – MARRAKECH:

Following breakfast at your Riad, we will travel to Marrakech, where we will stop at Ait Benhaddou Kasbah on the way. This Kasbah is the largest in all of Morocco and was constructed by Thami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains. Throughout his long journey from the Desert to Marrakech, it used to be one of his stops along the way. It has since been designated by Unesco as a world heritage site. You will continue on your journey to Marrakech by crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the breathtaking Tizin'tichka Pass, which is 2,260 meters in elevation. You will have the opportunity to learn about the manner and the process that the Berber women use in their cooperatives to produce argan oil, which is unique to Morocco and can only be found there. Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening, marking the conclusion of the tour. Thank you exploring Morocco in Merzouga desert tours with Morocco Bedouin Tours.

DAY 1:  FES – IFRANE – AZROU – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA :

Following breakfast, you will depart Fes for Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz valley. Today you will journey to Ifrane, a picturesque alpine hamlet known as Morocco's Switzerland. You'll also visit the cedar forest in the central Atlas Mountains. On your tour, you will view the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains and stop in Azrou, a Berber town in the center of Morocco's famed cedar forest, the largest in the country, where you will have the opportunity to observe the Barbary apes. Following that, your journey to Midelt continues via the breathtaking Atlas highlands and mountains. After lunch in Midelt, you'll journey via the interesting Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the stunning Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau and seeing how the environment transforms to give clues of the desert as you reach the province of the south-east * Errachidia city*. Following that, you'll journey through the beautiful Ziz Valley, pausing for panoramic vistas all the route to Erfoud and Rissani. As you arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, you'll be greeted with a drink of mint tea before being shown to your riad.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA – SAHARA DESERT - CAMEL TREK:

Following breakfast in your riad, you can explore the surrounding region before beginning your camel ride; you will visit the Gnawa people - originating from Mali, Senegal, and Sudan - in their hamlet Khamlia, where you will learn about their music and way of life. Afterwards, we will drive into the desert to visit nomad families and learn about their way of life. Our lunch today will be a classic Berber dish (Berber pizza). You will also have the option of seeing Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, Morocco's current governing royal family. Rissani is surrounded by around 360 ksar (fortified villages with several towers) and has a large souk (an open market) that is held three times a week. Formerly known as Sijilmassa, this was the meeting point for salt caravans traveling from Tombouctou, Mali. You'll go through the souk, which sells spices, vegetables, and clothing. Return to the settlement of Merzouga. In the afternoon, you will ride your camel with an expert camelman to uncover what lies buried in the center of Morocco's highest sand dunes. Dinner will be provided in front of the tent where you'll be sleeping for the night.
